Over the past 75+ years, Hobie shapers and surfers have experienced every era of board building, from balsa beginnings to foam pigs, the transition years, the shortboard revolution, and the longboard revival of the late ’80s and ’90s. That resurgence was not simply a return to ’60s classics; it blended timeless lines with progressive rails, rockers, and bottom contours. The result was a longboard that maintained glide while unlocking new levels of maneuverability. That spirit of progression continues to shape our designs today.

The Fusion traces back to Terry Martin and is built off our “Standard” rocker. It features a smooth, continuous curve from nose to tail, carrying slightly more rocker than our traditional models. This subtle adjustment allows the board to sit comfortably between classic trim and modern performance.

Designed for easy wave entry, confident turns, and the occasional walk to the nose, the Fusion is a true all-arounder. A clean squash tail, versatile two plus one fin setup, also available as a single fin, and a generous vee panel off the tail provide the balance of stability, control, and responsiveness needed across a wide range of conditions.
