The Id

All "Hulls" are designed and shaped by master craftsman Adam Davenport. Tested by the Hobie Surfboards Team at local reef and point breaks, each design is crafted to ensure performance and integrity.

The Monsters of "Id" is our go-to small-wave or "longboarder's" hull. These boards embody the displacement hull elements we love: pinched rails, a rolled bottom up front, and a subtle, full-panel, vee. Drawing inspiration from 60's Yaters and transition-era Morey Popes, the Monsters are essentially mini-logs in the 8'6" to 9'6" range. Perfect for cheater fives in the pocket, these boards are a playful choice when the waves aren't juicy enough for your favorite mid-length or hull.

Ideal in 2'-4' waves, the Monsters of "Id" truly shine when paired with a True Ames "Log Flex" fin in the 9.75" depth. For those looking to experiment, a Greenough 4A or our own "DP Flex" fin offers an equally engaging ride. This shape invites surfers to connect with the rail, delivering a rollercoaster-like sensation when paired with the right footwork and fin placement.
