Hull A

All "Hulls" are designed and shaped by master craftsman Adam Davenport. Tested by the Hobie Surfboards Team at local reef and point breaks, each design is crafted to ensure performance and integrity.

The Hull "A" is our classic hull design. Typically shaped in the 7'0"-8'0" range, it features a wide-point-forward outline. Davenport customizes the rocker to each customer, but the "A" is designed with the flattest tail rocker of the three shapes--perfect for true rail surfing. This design encourages riders to use their front foot or both feet to drive in and out of turns.

As the most traditional of our hulls, we recommend starting with a rounded squash tail, which provides smooth and consistent transitions through turns. These boards aren't for the faint of heart! They demand thoughtful, deliberate surfing--but with the right mindset, they deliver an incredibly rewarding experience.
