The NM Positive Force is Hobie's modern interpretation of the groundbreaking Australian designs that helped define the shortboard revolution. Inspired by the “Plastic Machine” era, the shape blends classic design principles with refined modern craftsmanship. A flat, rolled entry flows into a compact speed zone, creating effortless acceleration and immediate response. Panel vee through the tail, paired with modern rails, turns down-the-line speed into smooth, controlled, and highly maneuverable performance.
Each NM Positive Force is hand shaped by Nick Melanson and glassed by Max Caldwell, whose groovy, psychedelic glasswork adds a bold visual layer to the board’s performance-driven design, carrying forward the spirit of those early Australian innovations with the attention to detail that defines Hobie Surfboards.
